Chamonix Mount Blanc is situated at the base of the wonderful Mt Blanc in the European Alps and is generally recognized as the climbing and skiing epi centre of France. Chamonix town is well know as a veritable area for extreme sports in winter and summer. The resort was home to the first Olympics in the 1920s – moreover it’s also a region of outstanding natural beauty proffering a lot to the adventurous climber and sightseer.

Differing from most new ski fields the town of Chamonix is not a purpose built ski town and has largely been saved from the concrete monstrosities that blight so much of the Alps. It is fortunate to have not only a world renowned skiing mountain but a turn of the century and energetic center.

It is of ample size to ensure that there’s plenty enough for the tourist to do and see. Whatever the pace of your break theres an activity to please everyone. There’s a big sports center, spas, paragliding and weekly market; and loads of designer boutiques, cafes and clubs, Chamonix town supplies a mix of snowboarding, old town charm and shopping, that only a few ski areas can come close to.
